We've reached the final day of February, which means the Knicks finally have the financial flexibility to add a player to their roster.
As detailed previously, New York is roughly $540,000 below the second apron. As of Friday, for the first time all season, the prorated cap hit for a player signed to a minimum deal for the rest of the season is just south of $540k, giving the Knicks the requisite wiggle room.
The other option for NY would be to sign a player to a ten-day contract and then reassess the situation once that pact is about to expire. The cap hit on a 10-day contract would be approximately $120k.
