The New York Knicks are just two wins away from the NBA Finals.

The mission was to extend the season.

The fans inside MSG weren't ready to see this enjoyable, unpredictable campaign come to an end. And neither were the players with New York on the front of their jerseys.

To accomplish this feat, the home team needed to clamp down on an Indiana offense that has looked unstoppable at times this postseason.

We'll talk about the offensive exploits of The Captain and KAT in a bit, but this game was about New York's all-out commitment on the defensive end. Heading into last night, the Pacers had scored 100+ points in 20 straight playoff games. In their resounding Game 4 victory, the Pacers put up 130.

To stay alive, the Knicks knew they needed to cut off the head of the Pacers' snake.
