With the commencement of the NBA's annual free agency feeding frenzy only about 72 hours away, the league is buzzing. And for good reason. For some fans, this is the most exciting/spicy time of the year.
To get everybody in the mood, I'm going to set the table by ranking the top 50 players expected to hit the open market this summer. Here's the first installment:
50. Ricky Rubio - Indiana Pacers - Unrestricted
Before tearing his ACL in December, Rubio was playing some of the best basketball of his career and was a key contributor to Cleveland's surprising success over the first two months of the season. In the 34 games he played for the Cavs, Ricky averaged 13.1 points, 6.6 dimes, 4.1 boards, 1.4 steals and a career-best 1.7 made treys. A contending team that is patient enough to wait until the second half of next season before seeing a return on their investment might be able to scoop up Rubio at a steep discount this summer.
