After previously ranking the top point guards and shooting guards set to become free agents this summer, today I'll break down the (relatively weak) crop of small forwards up for grabs.
1. Khris Middleton / Washington / Player Option:
In June of 2023, Middleton declined his player option, worth $40.4 million, and entered the free agent market before agreeing to return to Milwaukee on a three-year, $102 million deal. However, since then, Middleton has been crippled by knee issues. He started just 19 games in 2022-23 and only 21 this past season, which included a trade to the Wizards at the deadline. Middleton clearly isn't the same dynamic scorer he was during the Bucks’ championship run. His player option for 2025-26 (his age-34 season) is worth $34 million, and he is expected to opt in to secure that payday.
