Nice and Easy
The same player who leads the entire league in total rebounds (801) this season is shooting over 42% from downtown since the All-Star Break.
Final Score: Knicks 145 - Wizards 113
Record: 47-25
Knicks fans have suffered through plenty of stressful, ugly wins in 2026, but last night was a laugher from pillar to post (capped off by a Tyler Kolek cherry on top of Sunday’s sundae).
Crushing a woeful Wizards squad isn’t much of a feat, but a nice, comfortable victory was certainly welcomed.
The Knicks never trailed, jumping out to an early lead and going up by double-digits midway through the first quarter. Washington simply had no answer for Karl-Anthony Towns, who dominated inside. Towns finished with 26 points on 9-for-13 shooting (7-for-7 at the line), grabbed 16 rebounds, dished out three assists, recorded one steal, and hit one three-pointer.
Sunday’s superlative performance isn’t surprising, considering how well Towns has played after the drama surrounding the trade deadline subsided. In the 16 games since the All-Break, KAT is averaging 21.5 points and 12.1 rebounds, while shooting over 58% from the floor and 42.9% from three-point range.
We take his incredible skill set for granted because we watch KAT on a daily basis, but it’s wild that the same player who leads the entire league in total rebounds (801) this season is a career 40% three-point shooter. Never been a big man like this dude.
