Knicks Would Be Crazy To Even Consider Chasing Kyrie
I'm going to assume Kyrie and his camp leaking potential interest from the Knicks, Lakers and Clippers is a leverage play, hoping to force Brooklyn's hand.
So, Monday morning started with a bang when Shams Charania of The Athletic reported Kyrie Irving and the Nets are "at an impasse." Shams sent off alarm bells in NYC and LA when he added, "The Lakers, Knicks and Clippers are expected to be among the interested suitors if Irving heads elsewhere."
Despite declaring in late April, after the Nets were swept out of the first round by Boston, that he planned on staying in Brooklyn (Irving even dropped this gem: "When I say I'm here with [Kevin Durant], I think that it really entails us managing this franchise together alongside Joe [Tsai] and Sean [Marks]."), it now appears that the Nets may have cold feet about committing to Irving long-term.
And, quite honestly, they'd be foolish not to have serious reservations.
