The 2025 Summer Knicks laid an egg in their Vegas debut Friday night, getting blown out by the Pistons, 104-86.

Detroit never trailed in the contest. They scored the first six points of the game, built a double-digit lead midway through the first quarter and never looked back. Second-year pro Ron Holland was unstoppable for the Pistons, finishing with 28 points (8-for-12 from the floor and 4-for-5 from downtown), 11 rebounds, three steals and a block.

There weren't many positives for New York, but Pacome Dadiet turned in a solid outing. After a quiet first two quarters, Dadiet came alive after halftime, frequently sprinting out in transition and finishing fast breaks. He ended the contest with a team-high 17 points on 8-of-13 shooting. Dadiet was 1-of-3 from behind the arc and also knocked down a nice pull-up mid-range jumper. His mechanics look solid, and he looked locked in on the defensive end as well.

It's important to remember the kid is still a teenager (he won't celebrate his 20th birthday until the end of the month).

Here are the Pac-Man highlights (courtesy of @IQfor3 on Twitter):

Tyler Kolek posted decent counting stats (10 points, eight dimes and six boards), but he did not play well Friday night. The Knicks' starting PG was just 4-of-11 from the floor and missed all five of his three-point attempts. Although he dished out a game-high eight assists, he also committed a game-high five turnovers. That type of carelessness with the basketball is not something we expect to see from the youngster.

Kolek also played poorly on the defensive end. Detroit's Daniss Jenkins, who played collegiately at St. John's and inked a two-way contract with the Pistons last year) was able to blow by Kolek with relative ease and finished with 18 points. Dadiet switched onto Jenkins often in the second half in an effort to slow him down.
