Knicks Crash Back Down To Earth In Memphis
To make matters worse for New York, both the Atlanta Hawks and the Charlotte Hornets registered much-needed victories on Friday night.
Memphis mashes New York, 118-114
The Knicks were riding high. Winners of three straight games, New York had built a 15-point lead with less than a minute remaining in the third quarter on Friday night. However, the Grizzlies gained momentum by closing out the third with a 6-0 run. And, as has been the case so often this season, the Knicks were trounced in the final frame.
The cause of the Knicks' collapse in the particular contest is relatively simple to pinpoint.
New York doesn't have a superstar, nor do they have a point guard. Memphis has Ja Morant.
