Sometimes, counting stats can be deceiving.

If you take a quick glance at the box score from the Nets' 112-85 annihilation of the Knicks Wednesday night, you might assume Julius Randle and RJ Barrett played well. RJ racked up 16 points, six boards and three dimes, while Randle finished the evening with 24 points, 11 rebounds and four 3-pointers.

However, Barrett shot just 5-of-14 from the floor and 4-of-8 from the free-throw line. And, yes, Randle did provide some much-needed offense on a night when the rest of his teammates were ice-cold, but the Knicks starting power forward had more turnovers than assists and also gave away plenty of points on the defensive end. Looking at the big picture, the Knicks were outscored by a whopping 29 points in the 31 minutes Randle was on the floor. Barrett was -22.

On the season, the Knicks are now allowing 115.9 points per 100 possessions with Rancle on the court, which is the worst individual Defensive Rating on the team.
