Sometimes, when a team is struggling, that club has to find a way to win, even if it's ugly.
The Knicks' victory over the Sixers on Wednesday night was far from pretty and took five minutes more than it should have, but New York returned home with a much-needed win.
Although the Knicks were missing Karl-Anthony Towns (who we learned is not only dealing with a sprained right thumb but also a bone chip in the same finger), the shorthanded Sixers were playing without Joel Embiid, Caleb Martin, Andre Drummond, Jared McCain, Kyle Lowry, KJ Martin.
Despite those absentees, there was still plenty of star power on the floor. Tyrese Maxey (33 points) and Paul George (26 points) had huge second halves for Philly. However, the Knicks had the best player on the court and the heart and soul of a city on their side.
