The Knicks finished last season with a 37-45 record. And they didn't make wholesale changes over the summer. Eight of their top ten rotation players returned, with only Alec Burks and Kemba Walker traded away in July to make room for a new point guard. 

After demolishing the Nets last night at MSG, the Knicks improved to 37-27 this season. They have won seven games in a row and have been one of the league's best teams for the past two months. 

The primary reason New York obliterated Brooklyn last night is the same driving force primarily responsible for the Knicks having already matched last year's win total: their new PG, Jalen Brunson. 

Forget the fact that he wasn't an All-Star; one could make a strong case that he deserves to make an All-NBA team. Forget debating where Brunson ranks on the list of greatest free-agent signings by the Knicks; if he and his team keep this up, we can discuss where Brunson might land on the list of greatest FA signings in recent history by any pro sports team in New York. The impact this one man has had on this organization has been that dramatic.
